Firenze (FI) - Full day

In the morning 

  • Meeting at the hotel in Florence with our english speaking driver 
  • Departure towards Castle of Verrazzano in  Greve In Chianti. There is a great tradition of winemaking here: the “vineyards situated in Verrazzano” are mentioned in a manuscript which dates back to 1150 preserved at the abbey of Passignano . The Castle was the property of the Verrazzano family in the VII century. Giovanni da Verrazzano, the navigator and discoverer of the bay of New York and of most of the East coast of modern U.S., was born here in 1485. 
  • Visit to the winery. You will visit the vineyards and olive groves, the production area and the ancient cellars dating back to the XVI century. 
  • Wine tasting of  “Verrazzano Rosso” red Tuscan IGT, Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva.

In the afternoon

  • Lunch at the Castello di Verrazzano restaurant. You will taste a Great Verrazzano cold cuts and cheese board: ham, Tuscan salami, finocchiona (a typical salami flavoured with fennel seeds), wild boar salami, Tuscan crostino, black crostino with lard, pecorino cheese (ewe's milk cheese), caprino (fresh goat cheese) with farm honey and “Balsamico Verrazzano".
  • Departure to  Capannelle Winery in Gaiole in Chianti village. 
  • Visit of the winery (vineyards, production area, wine cellars) with tasting 
  • Return to Florence
  • End of the service.
